Priority Issues

Protect Education Funding

Sam Brownback's cuts caused severe damage to Kansas' K-12 education system. Devon will stand with Gov. Laura Kelly to heal it by protecting our restored school funding against further attacks from extremists in the legislature.

Expand medicaid

Refusing to expand Medicaid has cost our state $2 billion, and kept quality health insurance from 150,000 Kansans. Expanding access to affordable coverage will save lives, lower expenses for everyone, and cost the state nothing.

Cut taxes for working families

Kansas has the second-highest sales tax rate on food in the country. A tax on groceries affects working Kansans the most - that's why Devon will work to cut and eventually eliminate it in the State Senate.

Support higher education

More than $100 million has been cut from our higher education system since 2009, resulting in skyrocketing tuition rates. We need to reverse this trend to attract talented faculty and bright students to our state universities.

Invest in infrastructure

US-54 (Kellogg), I-35 (Kansas Turnpike), and K-96 all run through and interchange right here in the 30th District. Devon will stop the raids on the KS Department of Transportation's budget and protect funding for improvements to our roads.
